How Do I Clear the Cache on My Browser?

If you're not seeing recent changes to your website, then you probably need to clear the cache on your web browser first. Here's how.

Not seeing a recent website update? Your browser is likely displaying a cached, older version of the site.

Try a Hard Refresh

The first thing you can try is to do a hard refresh as this will often serve up the recent changes.

On a Mac...

Either hold down SHIFT and click the Reload button. Or Hold down COMMAND, SHIFT and click the 'R' key.

On a PC...

Either hold down CTRL and click the Reload button. Or, Hold down CTRL and press F5.

Clear the Cache

Didn't the hard refresh do the trick? Don't worry, the next step is usually to clear your browser's cache and cookies. Think of it as a digital spring cleaning for your browser—it gets rid of old, saved versions of websites so you can see the fresh, updated content you're looking for. The exact steps will depend on the browser you're using, but the principle is the same. Let's walk through how to do it on the most commonly used browsers..

  1. Click on CHROME in the menu bar at the top left of your screen
  2. Click CLEAR BROWSING DATA
  3. Click the CLEAR DATA button
